DESCRIPTION:
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum dewormer which belongs to the group of benzimidazole-derivatives. It is active against gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms and tapeworms in cattle, sheep and goats. Albendazole is also active against mature liver flukes in cattle, sheep and goats.
INDICATIONS:
Worminex 10% Liquid is indicated for prophylaxis and treatment of worm infections in cattle, sheep and goats such as:
Gastrointestinal worms : Bunostomum, Chabertia, Cooperia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Strongyloides and Trichostrongylus spp.
Lungworms : D. viviparus and D. filaria.
Tapeworms : Monieza spp.
Liver fluke infestations : Mature Fasciola hepatica.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Do not administer in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Hypersensitivity reactions may be observed.
PRECAUTIONS:
Wash hands carefully after direct contact with medicine. Direct contact with the medicine should be avoided by pregnant women.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For oral administration. Use of a drenching gun is recommended.
Cattle : 1 ml per 12 kg bodyweight (equivalent to 8.3 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight).
Sheep : 1 ml per 20 kg bodyweight (equivalent to 5 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight).
Goats : 1 ml per 10 kg of bodyweight (equivalent to 10 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight).
In case of liver fluke infestations.
Cattle, : 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight (equivalent to 10 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight).
Sheep : 1 ml per 12 kg bodyweight (equivalent to 8.3 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight).
Repeat treatment only on advice of your veterinarian.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: Cattle : 27 days
Sheep, goats : 7 days
Milk : 4 days
STORAGE:
Store in a dry, dark place between 2 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep medicine away from children.
